Another announcement about the fate of a fair because of COVID-19. The St. Louis County Fair is postponing until 2021.

In a statement, the fair board said, "After much discussion, it is with great disappointment and sadness that the St. Louis County Agricultural Fair Association Board is postponing the 2020 St. Louis County Fair (originally scheduled for August 5-9), until August 4th- 8th, 2021.  Due to the current the COVID-19 pandemic, the current restrictions and the unknown future regarding large group gatherings and required protocol, it was apparent that it would be impossible to host a “normal” fair this year."

The board said they are continuing with improvements and maintenance on the grounds this summer, in preparation for next year's fair.

"We appreciate the support of everyone involved in the fair. We will miss not being able to put on this fun community event this year, but we intend to use this time to plan a bigger and better fair for 2021," the board said.

The South St. Louis County Fair announced Wednesday they were going to postpone.
