2020 Ride-A-Thon for North Country Ride

Updated: September 17, 2020 05:41 PM

North Country Ride is a special place in Esko. Using therapeutic horse therapy, they help people with different life challenges become stronger, overcome fears, and learn how to follow directions.

"I like to call it life challenges, mental, or physical. It doesn't have to be anything anyone can recognize," explained Tamy Horyza, the executive director.

They've lost considerable revenues due to the pandemic. So they've organized a Ride-A-Thon, with the goal of bringing in $25,000.

You don't have to ride a horse though. You can walk, run, kayak, or even drive!

"Our most unique team is Team Opal. A man who runs marathons is going to run a half-marathon in a white horse costume, along old Highway 61," Horyza said. "So if you see him, donate to Team Opal!"

It all kicks off tomorrow. There are 14 teams. You can donate to any of them!
