The Duluth Area Family YMCA is committed to food access for all, and provides free meals families in our communities year-round. 


The Y will be offering free meal kits, made possible with funding from the Minnesota Department of Education, to families beginning on September 16th.

Meals will be provided to families without charge. Each meal kit will contain the ingredients for 2 complete meals for a family of 4. Included in these kits will be an easy step-by-step recipe card, along with all of the ingredients necessary to make the meals.

The Y serves healthy meals for all families regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability. 

All meals are provided on a first come, first served basis:

  • Wednesdays from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at Gary New Duluth Recreation Center, 801 101st Avenue West in Duluth
  • Wednesdays from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at Downtown Duluth Y, 302 W. 1st Street in Duluth
  • Thursdays from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at Harbor Highlands Community Center, 29 W 11th Street in Duluth
  • Thursdays from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at YMCA at the Essentia Wellness Center, 4189 Ugstad Rd. in Hermantown
