Unions have united in their effort to feed hungry families during the pandemic.

Craig Olson, president of the Duluth Building Trades, said, "Labor is stepping up during these tough economic times. Many families are struggling."

They are giving away 2500 boxes of food on Thursday.

It's a first-come, first-served situation. There are no income guidelines or requirements.

Beth McCuskey, president of the Duluth Central Labor Body, added, "There's too many families with food insecurities. We'll be handing out to those in need."

According to the DECC, the event is being put on by the Duluth Building & Construction Trades Council, Northeast Area Labor Council, and United Food & Commercial Workers Local 1189, in partnership with the Saint Paul Regional Labor Federation.

It starts Thursday at 11:30am in the DECC parking lot.
