Those five cities include Thunder Bay, Canada; Vaxjo, Sweden; Rania, Iraqi Kurdistan; Petrozavodsk, Russia; and Ohara-Isumi City, Japan. The exhibition will travel to all of thesse from 2015 through 2017.

Meeting face to face with people of five countries either in person or via skype, artist Anne Labovitz will lead conversations which are then translated into art pieces that speak of the urgency for cross cultural understanding and compassion.

Her plan for this project is also to demonstrate how a piece of artwork can connect the people of Duluth with their sister cities.

Afterwards, people from each city contribute their responses as the show progresses to its culminating venue at the Tweed Museum of Art in Duluth in 2017.

The exhibition commences this fall on September 11 in Thunder Bay, Canada.
