Ashland Payday Loan Store Robbed

Police have arrested a man accused of robbing an Ashland payday loan store around lunch time on Monday.

The robber wearing a ski mask and sunglasses entered EZ Payday Loans, 2400 Lakeshore Drive East, at about 11:54 a.m. and showed what appeared to be a semi-automatic handgun.  He demanded cash from the teller and fled on foot.

Officers from the Ashland Police Department, Ashland County Sheriff's Department, and the Bad River Police Department tracked the suspect through the woods.  They then received assistance from Walmart staff and loss prevention to arrest the suspect on Walmart property.

The suspect is being held in jail while the investigation continues.
