Yep, that’s his real last name. Growing up, people would often joke with Brandon saying, “You’re last name’s Weathers, are you going to be a weather man?” And he would quickly reply, “No!” But as he got older, he started to think, “You know what? Yeah.”

Brandon hails from Sauk Rapids in Central Minnesota. He graduated in 2018 from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. While going to school he worked at Papa Murphy’s, where folks might know him for enthusiastically dancing with a promotional sign, for which he was recognized in the region!

Brandon is a theater geek at heart. Between school performances and community theater, he has done about three shows a year since the seventh grade and instructed theater camps for three summers. When it came time to decide on a career path, it was his love for science, fascination with weather, passion for performing, and frankly, his last name, that all pointed him toward being a broadcast meteorologist.

Brandon is excited to start off his career in the Northland because of the weather that comes with the territory. Although he’s a Minnesotan, he has yet to experience a Duluth winter! “With Lake Superior, it’s a whole different beast here,” Brandon says, excited for the challenges and beautiful views that come with it.

During any weather “down” time, with theater on his mind and Broadway soundtracks filling his playlists, Brandon is also excited to live in such an active theater community.

Brandon loves spending time with his family and friends. He’s looking forward to exploring the Northland with them as they visit!
