Anchor/Producer for Good Morning Northland

After living in the Twin Cities for two years, Tara Terregino says she is happy to be back in Duluth where she originally launched her journalism career.

"I'd drive up to Duluth a lot on the weekends. So I figured why not move back if I miss it so much? Now, I get to start my early mornings in the studio and inform people on what's happening in and outside our community."

Tara has interviewed countless state and city top leaders but what draws her to journalism is the opportunity to get to know the neighbors in our communities in ways most people don't get to experience.

"There are days when I cover inspirational, feel good stories, but I also have to cover tragedy and other difficult ones. I've covered so many where people have lost loved ones due to car crashes, murders or illnesses. Sometimes it's not easy to separate your emotions in order to focus on the news at hand, but you do your best."

Tara gets up very early so that she can bring you the news from 5:00-7:00am on Good Morning Northland. She is also the show creator and runs the live broadcast while anchoring.

"I enjoy what I do because I believe local journalism connects our community on some level despite how different we are. I hope the stories I tell can help at least one person who tunes in"

When she's not at work, Tara loves exploring the charming lake towns along the North Shore. She likes to travel everywhere to experience different cultures. One of her goals is to learn Italian, visit Italy one day and feast on the delicious food there.
