Ryan Juntti joined the WDIO News Team in June 2017 after graduating from St. Cloud State University.

Ryan said he moved to Duluth because he likes the area--and not to make it up to his dad, a former Bulldog, for going to St. Cloud!

Ryan grew up in Eagan, and his interest in a journalism career was first sparked in high school when he was part of the student-run Eagan AM newscast.

At St. Cloud State, Ryan was part of the student-run campus television station, UTVS. He was both a news and sports anchor throughout his time there. He also gained technical experience while working behind the camera, and saw his share of college hockey as a camera operator with Husky Productions.

Ryan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications and a Supplementary Major in Communication Studies.

Ryan had always seen Duluth as a great place to start his career. Growing up, he spent many hours at the family cabin just an hour away. Each winter, his family makes a trip to the Gunflint Trail to cross-country ski, and it’s always been a tradition to stop at Grandma’s for lunch on the way there. He loves the North Shore area and is looking forward to further exploring it.

You can catch Ryan fishing in the summertime, or playing sports with friends. He also hopes to be able to fish Lake Superior now that he lives in Duluth.

If you have any news tips or story ideas, Ryan would love to hear them. You can send them to rjuntti@wdio.com.
