Steelworkers Hurt in Explosion in Michigan

An explosion injured six steelworkers at a U.S. Steel facility in Michigan.

According to the company, the incident was in the hot strip mill portion of the Great Lakes Works facility in River Rouge.

U.S. Steel said that five employees were transported to local hospitals, where two remain hospitalized. One person was treated and released at the on-site medical care facility. 

The company added that an investigation is underway. The hot strip mill remains down, but other operations at Great Lakes Works have not been affected.
