ArcelorMittal confirmed that a haul truck carrying iron ore overturned on Monday morning. This happened at Minorca Mine in Virginia. The truck was preparing to unload iron ore onto a stockpile. It slid down an embankment, according to the company.

The company said the driver was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, but has been released.

After the truck overturned, about 100 gallons of diesel fuel spilled out. It was contained and cleaned up, according to the company.

Now ArcelorMittal, the USW and outside agencies are conducting an investigation.

ArcelorMittal added that they are committed to environmental compliance and the health and safety of every employee and contractor. "We will closely evaluate today's incident to understand the cause and prevent reoccurence," the statement said.
