Governor Mark Dayton will be making another trip to the Range to talk about Mesabi Metallics, indicating he is taking the recent developments seriously.

His office said on Thursday that he, the DNR commissioner and assistant commissioner, and the commissioner of the IRRRB will be hosting a town hall meeting in Nashwauk. The CEO of Mesabi Metallics, Gary Heasley, will also participate.

The meeting will provide an update on the status of the Nashwauk mining and pellet plant project.

Area residents, contractors, and community leaders will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide input.

The meeting is Monday at 7pm, at the Nashwauk Township Community Center. 16410 County Road 8.

Dayton and other leaders held their first weekly conference call about the project on Thursday. He was in Nashwauk on September 11th, meeting with Gary Heasley and Range leaders.
