Annual Hunter's Expo Attracts Hundreds To Mission Covenant Church in Poplar

Poplar, Wisc. - The firearm deer season in Minnesota and Wisconsin is fast approaching and for 22 years, Mission Covenant Church in Poplar, Wisconsin has been the place that has just about everything to get hunters ready.

This past Saturday, the church held their 22nd Annual Hunter's Expo, featuring exhibits, vendors and all things outdoors. It

"It is a way to draw people in and rally around a fun thing like hunting and the stories we get to share and great experiences we get to have," says Nathan Nelson, a youth pastor with the church.

Nelson says that during Wisconsin's Nine-Day Gun Deer Season that they do notice the congregation shrinks a little.

Minnesota's Firearm Deer Season begins November 3rd. This year, the Governor's Opener is in Hinckley. Wisconsin's Nine-Day Gun Deer Season begins November 17th.
