The University of Wisconsin-Superior is suspending its study abroad program in South Korea.

Two students were enrolled in the program. According to the university, one will return home today and the other hadn't left yet and will stay in the United States.

The students would have spent the semester in Wonju, South Korea.

The CDC is recommending Americans avoid unnecessary travel to South Korea.

"While there are currently no confirmed cases of coronavirus in Wonju, we take our students' safety and well-being seriously and are acting out of an abundance of caution," UWS Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Maria Cuzzo wrote in a statement.

They say the UW system continues to monitor the situation.
