The LightSpeed Lift is a body weight support system that goes around a treadmill. It's designed to minimize the impact of running or walking on our bodies.

Owner Malcolm Macaulay said generally, you had to be in physical therapy to have access to a LightSpeed Lift system. But with the new movement center, anyone can come in and use the equipment.

"We now have seven treadmills here with the LightSpeed system on it," Macaulay said. "You can get a membership, come on in, book a treadmill online, come in and use the system and get the benefits of body weight support, which are tremendous."

The LightSpeed Lift is manufactured in Duluth and sold all over the world. But Macaulay said this facility is the first of its kind.

"It's going to be geared for people with a hitch in their giddy-up. Maybe you've got Parkinson's, maybe you've got arthritis, maybe you've had joints replaced and you're just not able to go," Macaulay said. "Or starting a running program, you want to really make sure you get to the starting line healthy for the summer activities coming up."

There are three models: the Base Model, the PT Professional Model and the PT Clinical Model.
