Essentia Health-St. Mary's Hospice has been holding these Service of Remembrance events since 1991.  The event at Peace United Church of Christ in Duluth honored patients of all religions.

Essentia Hospice Director Sandee Carlson said hospice helps people decide how they want to live the rest of their life, Whether they're at home or in a hospital or other facility.

"with the support of professional people  who have been trained not only physical symptoms but other spiritual and issues that they have, things that come up at the end of life that they want to talk about, we have professional people who are trained to help them through that," Carlson said.

Another Service of Remembrance event is set for Sunday, October 20, in Virginia.  It'll begin at 2 p.m. at Peace United Methodist Church, 303 South 9th Avenue West, in Virginia.
