Jan Lee adapted the story, "A Christmas Carol," into a two person performance where they do a readers' theater.  She will also be performing in it.

"We do all the characters and all the sound effects and it's a lot of fun," Lee said.  "There's a lot of humore in it, which is somewhat surprising to people."

She said it's the fourth year they've done this and it's becoming a real tradition.  They encourage people to dress in period clothing for the event.

"We always encourage that, it's always a hoot to see what people come up with," Jon Hamilton, one of the owners of the White Winter Winery, said.

The event raises money for the Iron River Library and Hamilton said it's a key player in their community.

"We just want to make sure we're supporting literacy within our community," Hamilton said.

The community also helps put the event on.  It includes a five-course meal.

Lee said they're looking forward to seeing new faces.

Hamilton said they're expecting a sellout crowd, so you need to get your tickets soon.  You can order them at whitewinter.com or call 1-800-697-2006.

Tickets are $65 a person or $110 for a couple.  The event is Saturday, December 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the White Winter Winery.
