Tech Bytes: Amazon Faces More Competition, Say Hello to Self-Lacing Shoes

In today's Tech Bytes, Amazon's huge lead in smart speakers appears to be shrinking. Amazon still dominates the market with its line of ECHO speakers. But they are facing more competition from Google to Apple. A new report says Amazon will get 63% of the market in 2019, much less than it had this year.

Uber's self-driving cars have returned to the road. They were pulled in March after one of them hit a pedestrian in Arizona. Uber insists the cars are safer. One change is the automatic braking. It will now be activated at all time. On-road testing resumed Thursday in Pittsburgh. 

And Nike is about to unveil its first self-lacing basketball shoes. The company says the new smart show will hit the market in the Spring. They are expected to be lighter than earlier versions. Price tag on the news ones is around $350.
