UW-Superior Preparing for Valentine's Swing Dance

Updated: February 13, 2019 11:10 AM

Anyone still looking for fun Valentine's plan should consider heading to UW-Superior for their annual Valentine's Swing Dance. UW-S Jazz Program Director Dr. Greg Moore and UW-S student Sawyer Jones stopped by the studio Tuesday to give a preview.

Those who don't normally swing dance shouldn't worry as there will be an instructor at the event giving tips and tricks. However, dancing isn't a requirement to be a part of the event.

"If you don't want to dance and just listen to the music," Dr. Moore says, "that's fine, too."

Attendance has grown over the years and this year and they expect to continue that growth this year.

"In the past, it's been mostly an on-campus event where the students come," Dr. Moore explains, "but now we're getting a lot more community members and some of our swing dance aficionados from the community are coming in as well."

The dance begins at 7:30 p.m. It is free and open to everyone.
