UW-Superior, Douglas County Helping Veterans

Serving Veterans in the Twin Ports is something that many Northland residents take pride in. This is especially true for volunteers at the annual UW-Superior and Douglas County Veteran's Expo.

"I think it's important to give back to veterans who've done so much for us," Monte Stewart said.

Stewart is the Veteran and Non-traditional Student Services Coordinator for UW-Superior. He believes it's important for everyone to be aware that there are many resources available in Duluth and Superior. This includes MACV, Team RWB and 23rd Veteran. Those are three of the many groups that will be at this year's expo, which takes place on Tuesday, April 23. 

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and Secretary-designee of the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, Mary Kolar will both make an appearance at the event, too. 

The expo runs from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Yellowjacket Union Great Room located on campus.
