Tech Bytes: Microsoft Event, Robot Contractor

In today's Tech Bytes, a big day for Microsoft. The company is holding an event this afternoon here in New York City, where new products will be unveiled. Microsoft is expected to show off a new 'Surface' laptop, a new 'Surface Pro,' and an update to Windows 10.

HP is making a laptop made of leather. The "Spectre Folio" device is bound in genuine leather. The company is touting its stylish design, and a battery that provides 18 hours of power. One version launches at the end of the month. prices start around $1,300.

The machines are moving into the construction business. A Japanese company has designed a robot that can install drywall and do other tasks. Developers say the robots would replace Japan's aging work force. They'd also replace humans on more dangerous jobs.
