In today's Tech Bytes, Apple admits to slowing down older iPhones. Apple says it slows down the processors on older iPhones to prevent battery issues that could cause the phones to suddenly shut down or re-start. The tech giant says it's not a ploy to get you to replace your phone.

it appears Amazon could be rolling out a rival to YouTube. The company recently filed to get trademarks for two names: "Amazontube" and "Opentube." The filing came days after YouTube's parent company Google pulled YouTube from Amazon devices.

Giphy is out with the most used gifs of the year.

1: The love gnome. That was viewed 350 million times this year.

Giphy said more than 2 billion gifs were shared this year.
