The annual 'Sidewalk Days Festival' is now underway in Downtown Duluth. Shopping, local foods, music and more will fill five blocks of Superior Street through Friday, July 12.

Due to construction, the festivities will stretch between Lake Avenue and 5th Avenue West. Kristi Stokes, President of the Greater Downtown Council, said the festival is starting off 'big.'

"There will be an additional 50 vendors on the streets beyond our businesses that are already on Superior Street," she said.

In addition, "The Duluth Experience" is offering reconstruction tours to show people what's going on behind the orange cones. Stokes said there will be something for people of all ages.

For kids, the Children's Museum and Lake Superior Zoo will have interactive activities. For shopaholics, Maurices will once again have plenty of clothing deals.

For those driving to the festival, the council recommends using one of the seven parking ramps located in the downtown area. The first hour is free.
