Seize the Day with "Newsies" at Duluth Depot

"Newsies" are invading the Duluth Depot this weekend. The Duluth Playhouse is putting on a production of the popular Disney Musical and they have one more weekend of shows.

The story follows the newsboys strike of 1899. Kelly Kilorn, a cast member of he production, says a group of boys are rebelling against newspaper publisher Joseph Pulitzer, whose new rules are making it harder for newsboys to sell newspapers. 

Performances started on February 28 and actor Andrew Mille say reviews he's heard have been positive so far.

"I've heard nothing but good reviews of the show from friends and family and people who've come to see it," he says."We've had a couple hiccups, of course, because that's live theater, but nothing that we can't come back from."

The cast is filled with 40+ students from a variety of different Northland schools.
