Santa Returning to Duluth for Annual Breakfast

Folks of all ages have the opportunity to have breakfast with Santa Claus this weekend. The Port of Duluth Kiwanis Club is hosting Santa and Mrs. Claus for their 46th annual Breakfast with Santa.

Those who attend will be treated to a filling meal of pancakes, doughnuts, juice, coffee, and other breakfast foods. However, that's the only one of the many highlights of the event.

Cordelia Swanson with the Port of Duluth Kiwanis Club says there will also be live music, christmas decorations, and of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus. The big guy will be giving every child a book to go home with as well.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Kaleidoscope Summer program, which serves many children each year at the Duluth Public Library.

Swanson says one of her favorite parts of helping out with this breakfast each year is seeing familiar faces.

"You see these young faces grow up as they come with their parents...It's a lot about relationships with folks that you see year after year," she says. "Folks that have been coming for 46 years, those kids bring in their kids and it's just a great tradition. It's a great way to start the holiday season."

Breakfast with Santa is this Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at First United Methodist Church in Duluth. Tickets are $5 for person or $20 per family.
