The horror production tells the story of a young girl named Carrie White. Music director Beth Brophy says she's ostracized by other students. This feeling of being ignored builds up in her over time and essentially reaches a breaking point. At the same time, she's just discovered a special power that she's not afraid to use.

"It's a rock musical and I think the composition is really brilliant," Brophy says. "They do a lot with changing tempos."

For example, she says anytime a character is feeling off balance, the tempo is noticeably changed.

Actress Rachel Williams says it's been a fun experience working with Rubber Chicken Theater. This is her first production with the group.

"Nathan Payne is our Director and he's amazing and it's been a wonderful opportunity to work with him," she says.

There are around 20 people in the cast and the age range is from 16 to 'well into adulthood.' There are some gory moments and it's recommended that kids 13 and younger be accompianied by an adult.

Shows are June 20 - 22 and 27 - 29 at The Underground in Duluth. Tickets are $25 for adults and $20 for students. Click here to buy tickets.
