She's organizing her 4th annual "Fighting For Friends" event. It's a one-mile walk/run that's set to take place Saturday, July 27 at Bear Creek Park in Superior. Cost is $3 per person or $10 for a group of four. Those who can't afford to pay can still participate.

"It's free if you can't afford it because you're still showing your support," Keppers says.

Along with the walk/run, there will be a bounce house for kids. There will also be a t-shirt, baked goods, hot dogs and pop for sale. 70 percent of the proceeds will go to the St. Baldrick's Foundation. 20 percent goes to buy toys and crafts for the Erick Peter Person Children's Cancer Center at Essentia Health in Duluth.

"We get to buy them a bunch of stuff and that's always super fun," Keppers says.

The walk/run begins at 10 a.m. Click here to make an online donation to the St. Baldrick's Foundation.
