Anders Osthus and Adam Swank competed in previous years and agree it's very challenging.

"It's one of the hilliest courses in the Midwest and a lot of remote, very scenic terrain that's out there, but definitely challenging," Swank said.

Both Osthus and Swank have won the race before and Swank says it's quite an honor.

"There are hundreds of competitors out there and very strong skiers that train all year just to do events like this," Swank says.

A race like this requires a lot of training and time on the skis.

"The good snow happens and you just try and get out there and enjoy it and that's your training basically," Osthus said.  "The more hours, the more prepared you are."

They both like to ski with a group on Wednesday night to help push each other on a regular basis.

The races were pushed back to 10 a.m. from the original 9 a.m. start time, due to the cold weather.  The races are Saturday, March 2 at Giants Ridge.
