A brand new race for Grandma's Marathon is coming up this weekend and it's Halloween themed.

The North End Nightmare 5K is on Saturday and Grandma's Marathon is encouraging everyone to get in the spirit by dressing in costumes for the race.

"We also have free Spider Dash races for the kids that accompany that," Mandi Peterson, the Marketing and Public Relations Director for Grandma's Marathon, said. "It's all part of the North End Spooktacular in Superior."

Peterson said it's exciting that they're going to be a part of that event.

"We're hoping that families really enjoy it, because we do have the 5K which adults and youth can run," Peterson said. "For the Spider Dash races for the kids they get a cute, mummy tote bag that they can use for trick-o-treating."

She said they hope that they not only have a fun time, but they walk away with something as well.

The race will have different themes along the course.  She said they've been working on the decor and the props that will line the course.

"It ties in the whole Twin Ports community," Peterson said.  "We're excited to expand and be a part of the North End Spooktacular."

To register go here, or register in person on race day.
