"Matilda The Musical" begins tomorrow, July 24, at Boardman Auditorium in Eveleth. Cast members Aynsley Erickson (Matilda Wormwood) and Briona Currie (Mrs. Wormwood) are excited to perform in front of a live audience.

"It has a huge story behind it and I'm so glad other people get to experience it," Erickson says.

The story, for those who may not be familiar, follows a gifted young girl named Matilda. Her parents are less than nice to her and she is bullied by them and by her principal, Agatha Trenchbull. Early on, she discovers that she has the power of telekinesis. Matilda uses those powers to defend herself and her friends.

Currie's says the character of Mrs. Wormwood is very over-the-top.

"She wants to get everything done right away," she says. "She doesn't really care what she (Matilda) is doing."

In addition to tomorrow, the production runs Thursday, Friday and Sunday. Click here to buy tickets.
