The event marks a celebration of local music, arts and culture. One of the performers, Kyle Ollah, says he enjoys the atmosphere and comradery of the festival.

"There's just a lot of folks around (that are) happy to be where they are..." he says.

Ollah is a Duluth-native and plays folk-type songs. He'll be playing on the Duluth Transit Authority Trolley on Friday at 9 p.m.

Another aspect he likes is the copious amounts of northland residents who attend. He hopes an event like this attracts people to see artists throughout the rest of the year.

The festival runs through Sunday, May 5. Click here to see a full schedule.
