Two people were injured in a car vs. moose crash in St. Louis County.

The sheriff's office says it happened Sunday night on Forest Highway 11 in Bassett township, which is east of Hoyt Lakes. Officers responded to the crash around 11:15 p.m.

A 17-year-old Georgia teen, Amaya Nelson, was driving southbound when she collided with a moose that was in the roadway.

Authorities say she and a passenger, 22-year-old Remington Delinger of Two Harbors, were transported to the hospital with injuries that are not life threatening.
