Tech Bytes: Google on the Defense, Volkswagen and Ford Partner

Google is defending its practice of having workers listen in on Google Assistant conversations.

That's after 1,000 voice clips were leaked to a Belgian news outlet. Google says it uses the clips to improve voice recognition technology.

Volkswagen and Ford are set to announce a partnership to invest billions in building electric and self-driving cars. The companies will share intellectual property and hardware. It's the next step in the joint venture, which was announced a year ago by the automakers.   

You won't be able to blame the Ump for ball and strike calls in one baseball league.

The Atlantic League is now using a Doppler radar system behind the plate. The league tried it out this week in its all-star game. Observers said it was just as good as a human.
