"It's just a real festive environment," Kristi Stokes with the Greater Downtown Council says.

Local businesses located on the street are expected to join around 80 vendors to fill different portion of Superior Street. From Wednesday through Friday, Folks will be able to shop, eat, and have the chance to participate in a number of activities.

One classic event that's making its return during the first day of the festival is the Sidewalk Shuffle 5k run and walk. This year marks the 11th time it's been held.

Also on Wednesday is the "Kolar Chevrolet Buick GMC Classic Car Show." There, folks will be able to see six blocks (3rd Ave. W to 3rd Ave. E) full of classic hot rods. There will also be a live band playing on each block.

New this year is "Duluth's Biggest Coffee Break: Summer Edition." On Thursday at 9 a.m., Coffee and donuts will be given out at Lake Place Park. All proceeds from this event will go toward the restoration of the Duluth Lakewalk.

Because of the on-going construction, event space will be condensed.

"We'll be going from 3rd Avenue West to Lake Avenue during the day," Stokes says.

This is compared to vendors being able to spread further west in past years.

Stokes also recommends that parents bring their kids around the construction zones.

"We've noticed a lot of families coming down just to see everything in action," she says.
