Duluth East, Sweden Gearing up for Robotics Competition

Over 100 FIRST robotics teams will be at the DECC this week for two different competitions: The Lake Superior regional and the Northern Lights regional. Two of the teams, the Duluth East Daredevils and the Växjö Vikings (Sweden), have been preparing their robots together.

Växjö is Duluth's sister city and the Daredevils have been helping them out since they started out as a team back in 2017. Both teams have been communicating and helping each other out for the past few months via skype and emails. 

"I'm really looking forward to the competition becasue it's not really something that we have in sweden," Ebba Johnson with the Vikings says. 

Linnea Frisk of the Daredevils referenced the snow days as being somewhat of a road block to work around in preparing for this years competition. She says it's been a 'learning experience' working with time management and scheduling. 

Practice runs begin Thursday, Mar. 7 and matches begin on Friday, Mar. 8.
