Authorities ID Man Killed in Washburn County Three-vehicle Crash

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has identified a 23-year-old man killed in Sunday's three-vehicle crash in Washburn as Brett Tyler form Chetek, Wisconsin. Authorities also say a 51-year-old Chippewa Falls man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation said authorities responded to the crash on Boot Lake Road, south of County Highway B around 2:40 p.m.

A pick-up truck driven by the Chippewa Falls man was going northbound and collided with two vehicles going southbound. The third driver involved did not suffer any injuries. The driver of the pick-up truck was transported to the Hennepin County Hospital in Minnesota with life-threatening injuries. 

The Wisconsin State Patrol continues to investigate the crash. 

Personnel from North Aircare, Shell Lake Fire Department, Spooner Police Department, Spooner Fire Department and Washburn County Sheriff's Office assisted with response to the crash.
