It's a musical many are familiar with.  "Chicago" is hitting the Duluth East High School stage this week.

Corr Godfrey is a senior at Duluth East and she plays Velma.  She said it's mostly about vaudeville performers.

Hamza Rushdi is also a senior and he plays Amos, who gets cheated on by his wife, Roxie.

They've been rehearsing for the shows for a long time.

"We started rehearsal in the last week of August," Godfrey said.  "We did some dancing, because there's so much in the show that we wanted to get a jump on it."

They practice their songs, ensemble pieces, and more every day after school.  The set is designed and parent volunteers help make it come together.

"I think opening night is always the most fun performance, because no one has seen it yet and you're just so full of energy," Godfrey said.

The performances start October 24th through the 26th at 7 p.m. and on October 27th at 1 p.m.  Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students.
