A cat was killed in a house fire in Aurora Thursday morning.

The Northland Fire Wire says the residence is on the 100 block of West 3rd Avenue North. The fire was reported around 5:45 a.m. Crews from Aurora, Biwabik and Hoyt Lakes responded and are still on scene.   

Officials say the back of the house is "extensively damaged."
