"Very curious, Very energetic."

These are two words that Nicole Facciotto with Animal Allies used when describing 4-year-old Socks. He was brought to the shelter as a neighborhood stray.

He's very indepentdent and loves to explore whenever he gets the chance. Facciottos says he can also be affectionate, but it might take some time for the feline to become comfortable in his new surrounding.

If Socks isn't the feline for you, the shelter also has a barn cat available for adoption. That cat has been enjoying his time out on Animal Allies' "Catio," but he'd like a heated garage or barn yard to call his own.

The annual "Walk for Animals & Furry 5K" is happening on Saturday, June 1. The event raises money and awareness for homeless pets taken in by the Duluth shelter.

If you'd like to adopt Socks, visit Animal Allies at 4006 Airport Road or give them a call at 218-722-5341. Click here to see more animals available for adoption.
