UMD Women's Hockey Gets Commitment From Michigan Prep Freshman

She doesn't graduate high school until 2020, but a prep hockey player from Okemos, Michigan plans to play for college hockey for the Bulldogs.

Clara Van Wieren announced on Twitter and Instagram that she has verbally committed to UMD.

Van Wieren has played with the HoneyBaked Hockey Club and played with the Little Caesers team in 2016-17. Both are considered two of Michigan's best hockey programs.
