Peterson Scores Two, Shepard Earns a Shutout as Bulldogs Tally First NCHC Victory

Avery Peterson scored two goals and Hunter Shepard earned a 22-save shutout victory as the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) men's hockey team defeated Western Michigan University 3-0 on Friday at AMSOIL Arena.

Peter Krieger got the Bulldogs on the board in the first period just after the 11 minute mark to give UMD a 1-0 lead. Kobe Roth and Parker Mackay notched assists on the goal.

Peterson's two goals came in the third period to give the Bulldogs some cushion.

UMD now sits 5-4-2 on the season. The Bulldogs and Broncos will meet once again to close out the two-game series Saturday night. Puck drop is set for 7:07 P.M.
