Colbenson to Compete in USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships Beginning Thursday

Former University of Minnesota Duluth All-American Breanna Colbenson has qualified for the 2017 USA Track and Field Outdoor Championships set to begin this Thursday in Sacramento, California.

She will compete in the 3.000-meter steeplechase. Colbenson, one of a handful of collegians who is entered in the steeplechase and the lone individual from the NCAA Division II ranks, earned a trip to Sacramento by posting a time of 9:56.83 earlier this month at the 15th annual Music City Distance Carnival in Nashville, Tennessee.

Among the 23 elite professional and amateur runners Colbenson will go up against is Emma Coburn, the reigning Olympic bronze medalist and the holder of the U.S.. steeplechase record (9:07.63).

The 3,000-meter steeplechase preliminaries are set for 7:13 P.M. (PT) on Thursday with the finals taking place two days later at 2:24 P.M.
