Third Times the Charm as Anderson's OT Goal Sends Greyhounds Back to State

A goal by Logan Anderson in overtime would lift Duluth East over Andover 3-2 in a thriller to take the Section 7AA title and send the Greyhounds to state.

Duluth East had previously lost the past two section title games against Grand Rapids.

Duluth East would find themselves down 2-1 with just 1:15 to go in the 3rd period until Ryder Donovan evened things up at two eventually forcing overtime.

Brendan Baker scored earlier with just 11:11 remaining in the period 3rd to start the comeback.

The last time the Greyhounds made it to the state was back in 2015. Overall, it will be the 23rd time Duluth East has made a state appearance.

"I can't describe it, I mean it's the greatest feeling with my boys, those are my brothers," said Logan Anderson.

"Our guys kept working and stayed with it. You know I've seen this team score six goals in a period so we knew coming into the third that we're far from dead," added Head Coach Mike Randolph.
