Youth Nation, a family-centered event, was focused on the kids and their influence to society.  The event featured food, games, crafts, and activities for everyone to participate in.  The theme for the event this year was "On the Road to Freedom."

Jara McLarren, the planning coordinator, tells us more on the event.

"We are honoring that and reminding the community that our youth are very important and that we should be lifting them up and preparing them for the next generation," McLarren said.

The youth also had performances of dancing, singing, poetry, and a short film.  Other events will continue on Sunday and Monday.
