Western Duluth Little League Organizes Pancake Fundraiser

Western Duluth Little League held a fundraiser Saturday to kick of their field enhancement project.

The group is raising funds to renovate their structure behind the Wade Sports Stadium in Duluth. A pancake breakfast fundraiser was organized to raise funds for this goal.

Vice President of Western Duluth Little League, Corey Verhel, says their facility hasn't seen any improvements for a while.

"Our complex goes all the way back to 1985," he said. "We've done a good job of maintaining everything but it's time to start upgrading everything."

The group has more fundraising events planned in the coming days.

Western Duluth Little League give more than 200 boys and girls in the community an opportunity to play baseball.
