DULUTH - The VFW Post 137 and Midwest Communication hosted their annual free Christmas Eve dinner on Sunday afternoon at the VFW Post 137.
Anyone was welcome to attend the dinner that consisted of turkey, real mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, sweet potatoes, vegetables, cranberries, rolls, and pie.
All of the food is donated by the community, according to Kendall Linn, event coordinator.
"We have about 300 pounds of homemade sausage stuffing, sweet potatoes with marshmallows, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, great food and all from donation and all cooked here," said Linn.
Preparation began Saturday morning at 8:30, and continued on Sunday morning at 8:30. Linn says there were about 60 volunteers on both Saturday and Sunday.
