KSTP reports that The Twin Cities have the lowest unemployment rate for major metropolitan areas in the country, according to a report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Out of 51 metro areas with more than 1 million people, the Twin Cities and Nashville were tied for the lowest unemployment rates in October at 2.3 percent.
Meanwhile, the national unemployment rate was at 4.1 percent in the same month, and Minnesota's was at 2.4 percent. The Minneapolis-St. Paul area's rate was 1 percent lower than last year at the same time.
Other Minnesota cities have also been lowering their unemployment. Rochester and Mankato are even lower than the metro, at 2.1 percent and 1.8 percent respectively.
