Family members gathered in the City-County board room where Superior Mayor Jim Paine congratulated the seven firefighters. The ceremony also celebrated the promotion of three captains, a battalion chief, seven motor pump operators, and a lead inspector.

Superior Fire Chief Steve Panger said he enjoys participating in the ceremonies.

“It's really a great accomplishment. It's a proud time for their families. It's a lot of fun to do this and recognize all of our firefighters," Panger said.

Panger spoke about his colleague's accomplishments during the ceremony. After receiving their new badges and being sworn in, a reception was held for families and colleagues.
