The 97th annual South St. Louis County Fair is underway.
"This is a small children's fair where they can interact with the animals that are here. We have several horse shows for the rest of the week yet, and live music," said Frank Sirro, President of the South St. Louis County Fair.
The fair was originally located where the city hall now is in Proctor. It moved to it's current location at the Proctor Fairgrounds about 7 years ago.
The current location was surveyed to be the site of the Duluth Airport, but it was eventually turned over to the county where it was turned into a fairgrounds.
There are also rides and other activities for kids including the "farmer for a day" themed event where kids can milk a cow, pick apples, eggs, and potatoes.
For adults, there are multiple bands throughout the weekend including local musician Todd Eckart, whose band played on the night of Thursday, July 13.
The fair will run through Sunday, July 16. A car race will be held on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
