Jason Vincent and Jeff Anderson are opening a new restaurant called The Boat Club in the former Midi space at Fitger's.

"It's going to be a very nautical themed restaurant," Vincent told WDIO.

They just got inside the place on January 3. In the next five weeks, they have contractors completely renovating the space. Their goal is to be open in time for Valentine's Day weekend.

As for the menu, Vincent said you'll see your favorites for breakfast from The Vanilla Bean. But as far as lunch and dinner goes...

"We're bringing in new concepts, new recipes, and new flavors. We're going to be very local, with fish right from Lake Superior. We're going to have great steaks and homemade pasta. You name it!"

Fitger's approached them about operating in that space.

"When you stand here and look at the space, you just fall in love with it. It was a no brainer," Vincent added.

They plan on having shipping traffic schedules on the tables, and binoculars on the ledges, so folks can experience a waterfront vibe.

There is a hiring fair on Thursday, from 2-6pm. They are hiring for all positions.
